As both a teacher and parent, I completely understand the responsibility adults have to teach children how to motivate themselves and discover how much potential they have. With a bachelor's in English and a masters in Education, I have been a high school teacher for over a decade. In this role, I have taught all kinds of literature and English classes to high school students, including both American and British literature, as well as many types of writing classes. As a tutor, I want my students to not only develop skills in reading comprehension, test taking, and writing, but to find their own appreciation for these subjects so they can continue to motivate themselves throughout their lives. It is not enough to just learn about a subject; it is also important for students to learn how to learn. This knowledge serves to keep them interested in their world when they leave the classroom. That's why I work one-on-one with my tutoring students, so that I can delve into the material with the student and help them to fully comprehend the subject.
